Step 3: Color Hardener & Release Color Chart

  • Color hardener is a colored, dry-shake hardener that is broadcast by hand over the top of freshly placed concrete and worked into the surface. This provides a dense, abrasion-resistant colored concrete surface.

  • Antique release agent is used as a bond breaker in the stamping process. It is a dust on powder with water repellant properties that helps prevent wet concrete from adhering to the texture mat. This product is washed off the next day. A portion of the release will remain embedded in the texture areas and grout lines to add an additional effect on the concrete. It is always recommended to use a darker release color than the color of the concrete.

  • Antique-It Agent - Similar to the Antique release agent but in water form, not dust. The same colors are available.
